John Mayer
John brings elite collegiate and professional experience to Lions Beach Volleyball Club. As the Head Coach at LMU, a six-time consecutive West Coast Conference Coach of the Year and champion, 2025 AVCA Coach of the Year, and former AVP champion, John emphasizes athlete development, with the use of ecological dynamics, growth mindset, and long-term growth in a positive and challenging environment. Mayer is known for a non-traditional, approach, focusing on giving players problems to solve, encouraging experimentation, and fostering self-organization rather than a rigid, top-down system. On the professional side, he has coached multiple AVP and FIVB champions.
Jacinda Ramirez
Jacinda is a former standout LMU athlete and currently the Assistant Coach at LMU, with a passion for hard work, growth mindset and competing. She is the all-time leader as the winningest player at Gulf Shores, Alabama in LMU history. She focuses on acquiring skill and creating an encouraging environment for athletes of all levels.
Angela “Benny” White
Benny is an accomplished collegiate and professional beach volleyball coach, a former indoor professional player, and a four-time AVP Finalist. As LMU’s Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, she brings a deep understanding of athlete development pathways, skill acquisition, and confidence-building for young players. In addition to her collegiate accolades, Benny has coached the inaugural AVP League champions and the past two seasons’ League MVP, Geena Urango.
